Weekend Governess / Educational Nanny – Kensington
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 gross per annum

Burlington Nannies is delighted to be recruiting for a warm, highly educated family in Kensington who are seeking an experienced Weekend Governess / Educational Nanny to support their 9-year-old daughter.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, engaging and educationally focused candidate to join a formal, fully staffed household. The family has four children; however, this position is dedicated specifically to their 9-year-old daughter, who is preparing for her 11+ examinations and would benefit from thoughtful academic guidance, encouragement and mentoring.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the child’s weekend routine, combining educational support with companionship, activities and age-appropriate enrichment.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing educational support, particularly with English homework, reading and 11+ preparation.
Encouraging strong study habits, curiosity and academic confidence.
Acting as a positive role model, mentor and companion.
Accompanying the child to weekend activities, groups and classes.
Encouraging her interests and supporting her wider personal development.
Working collaboratively with the parents and wider household team.
Providing light practical support where required, such as preparing a snack or helping to unload the dishwasher.
Candidate Requirements
The family is looking for someone warm, proactive and engaging who can develop a positive relationship with their daughter while providing confident educational guidance.
Candidates should have:
Previous professional experience working with children of a similar age.
Strong academic ability and confidence supporting 11+ preparation.
Excellent spoken and written English.
The ability to encourage reading and make learning engaging.
A confident driving ability; a car will be provided while on duty.
A professional and discreet approach, with confidence working within a formal, fully staffed household.
A flexible and proactive attitude towards supporting the child’s weekend routine.
A musical background would be advantageous, as the child has a keen interest in music.

Hours & Accommodation
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00am until approximately 8:00/9:00pm.
Ideally, the successful candidate will already be based in London and will not require accommodation. However, for the right person, a flat close to the family home can be provided for Saturday evening.
Salary
£45,000–£60,000 gross per annum, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
