Our Recruitment Process
How Our Recruitment Process Works
Finding the right person for your family or household is a highly personal decision. At Burlington Nannies, we provide a thoughtful and discreet recruitment service, taking the time to understand your individual requirements before beginning a carefully managed search.
Whether you are looking for a professional Nanny, Newborn Care Specialist or member of household staff, we guide you through every stage of the process.
1. Understanding Your Requirements
We begin with a detailed consultation to learn more about your family, household, lifestyle and the position you would like to fill.
We will discuss the responsibilities, working hours, experience required, preferred qualifications, salary expectations, accommodation where applicable, travel requirements and the qualities that are most important to you.
This allows us to create a clear and accurate description of the role.
2. Beginning the Search
Once the position has been agreed, we begin searching within our network of professional candidates.
We carefully consider each candidate’s experience, suitability and long-term expectations before deciding whether to introduce them to your family.
3. Screening and Selection
Candidates are interviewed by Burlington Nannies before being presented for a position.
Our screening process may include:
A detailed professional interview
Employment history and experience review
Identity and right-to-work checks
Qualification and certificate checks where relevant
Paediatric first-aid certification for childcare positions
DBS or appropriate criminal-record documentation
Professional reference checks
Any documentation required for a particular position will be discussed with you during the recruitment process.
4. Candidate Introductions
We will send you the profiles of carefully selected candidates who closely match your requirements.
Each introduction will include relevant information about the candidate’s experience, background and suitability for the role, allowing you to decide whom you would like to interview.
We focus on presenting suitable candidates rather than overwhelming families with a large number of CVs.
5. Interviews and Trials
We coordinate interviews at times that are convenient for both the family and the candidate.
Where appropriate, we can also help arrange a trial. This gives both parties an opportunity to see how the arrangement may work in practice and whether the position feels like the right fit.
6. Confirming the Placement
Once you have selected your preferred candidate, we assist with confirming the offer, salary, start date, working arrangements and other important details.
The employment contract is agreed directly between the family and the successful candidate. We can provide guidance on the information that should be included and recommend specialist payroll or employment support where required.
7. Continued Support
Our service does not end when the candidate begins their position.
We remain available to support both families and candidates as they settle into the placement and are always happy to provide guidance should any questions arise.
A Personal and Professional Approach
Every family and household is different. Our role is to listen carefully, represent your requirements accurately and introduce professionals whose experience and approach are suited to your home.
