French-Speaking Rota Nanny – South Kensington, London
Two Weeks On / Two Weeks Off | £70,000–£85,000 Gross per Annum | Long-Term Position
Burlington Nannies is delighted to be recruiting an experienced French-speaking Rota Nanny for a warm and welcoming family based in South Kensington.
The successful nanny will take over from the family’s maternity nurse at the end of October or beginning of November, caring for their baby girl, who will be approximately four months old at the start of the position.
This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a nurturing and experienced nanny who would like to support a child throughout her early years and become a trusted and valued part of family life.
The Role
Working on a two-week rota rotation, the nanny will provide attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for the little girl throughout each duty period.
The family is looking for someone with strong, recent baby experience who can confidently support their daughter through each stage of her development, from establishing routines and weaning through to toddlerhood and eventually the school years.
The position is entirely child-focused, with responsibility for the little girl and her nursery duties rather than general household tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Provide attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care throughout the rota period.
Take full responsibility for all nursery duties, including the child’s laundry and keeping her belongings and spaces organised.
Support feeding, sleep and daily routines.
Confidently guide the family through weaning and, later, potty training.
Encourage development through singing, conversation, reading, sensory play and age-appropriate activities.
Arrange and attend suitable classes, groups and outings as the child grows.
Encourage opportunities for socialisation with other children.
Work closely with the parents, fellow rota nanny and wider household team to ensure consistency of care.
Accompany the family on occasional trips to their home in France.
Provide occasional proxy parenting by prior arrangement.
The Family & Household
This is a fully staffed household with a positive and collaborative working environment. The household team works together and supports one another while maintaining clearly defined responsibilities.
The nanny will not be expected to undertake general household chores, allowing her to focus entirely on the little girl and her nursery duties.
The family hopes to find someone who will develop a genuine long-term bond with their daughter and, over time, feel very much part of family life.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is seeking a warm, confident and highly experienced nanny who is genuinely interested in making a long-term commitment.
It is essential that candidates have substantial and recent experience caring for young babies, together with experience supporting children as they develop from infancy through to school age.
The successful nanny will be nurturing, engaging and emotionally intuitive, with excellent judgement and a calm, dependable approach. She should enjoy working collaboratively while being confident using her own initiative.
Above all, the family would love to find someone who can build a close and loving relationship with their daughter and become a trusted role model throughout her childhood.
