The Role
An experienced Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny is required for a highly successful businesswoman and
her 6 year old daughter. The Principal is a single mother based in Bristol. A move to Hereford may
happen in the future so the candidate must be happy to live in either an urban or rural environment.
The Housekeeper/Nanny may travel with the family to Hereford & London and on holidays abroad. In
the family’s absence the candidate must be prepared to travel to care for the family’s properties to
undertake a variety of tasks.
The Housekeeper/Nanny will be responsible for the care of the home to including cleaning, laundry,
ironing, shopping and cooking. Organisational experience including wardrobe management, home
management and supervising outside contractors is required.
Working hours are mainly Monday to Friday 07.45-18.00 plus one overnight stay with the child per
week. The Housekeeper/Nanny will be able to take time off during these hours to fit in gym visits etc
whilst the child is at school.
The Housekeeper/Nanny will have the responsibility of both shared and sole care for the child when
the Principal is away overnight and approximately one weekend per month with sole care of the child
and days off in lieu during the week will be arranged in these instances. The Housekeeper/Nanny will
also take sole charge of the child when the mother is away or out of the country.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Shared and sole care of the 6 year old daughter
• Driving The child to and from school and extra curricular activities
• Attending school concerts and meetings in the mother’s absence acting in loco parentis
• Ensuring all important school dates are in the home calendar
• Assisting The child with her homework
• Organising safe and fun learning opportunities daily, especially during school holidays.
• Planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks for the child daily
• Cleaning and tidying of the interior of the homes and the immediate areas outside
• Laundry (clothing and household linens), ironing/general care
• Bed making, routine bedding and linen changes
• Preparing the home for guests
• Grocery shopping, taking deliveries and other household errands
• Maintaining the household inventory & security
• Secure/ supervise tradesmen/contractors when required
• Organisation: e. g rotate seasonal clothing in closets, maintain pantry and routinely clear out
of date and spoiled items and replace stocks
• Basic household bookkeeping, maintenance of expenses
• One overnight stay a week and one weekend a month with sole care of The child
• Sole charge of The child whilst the Principal is away (2 qualified nannies who have known The
child for many years provide occasional overnight / weekend care)
• Accompanying the family on some holidays abroad (skiing, summer sun etc)
• Travel alone or with the family in the UK as required
• Care and security of the homes when the family are away
Requirements:
• A high degree of flexibility and level of service is absolutely essential
• At least 5 years experience in a similar role and must be able to provide checkable references
• Excellent housekeeping skills, including cleaning, laundry and ironing
• Excellent driving ability with a full clean driving licence; the candidate will be assessed on
driving skills
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and high level of initiative
• Practical with a hands on approach
• Well spoken with a confident and positive personality
• Must be kind, compassionate, reliable and honest with a cheerful and willing disposition
• Organised and self-motivated with good time-management skills
• Well presented and comfortable socialising with other parents at an independent school
• Fit and healthy

• Computer literate, able to manage household expenses and work on word and excel
